About Us

Our Journey

How did it all start ?

It all began in 2011 when two young Icelandic soccer players received scholarships to attend Clemson University. In 2015, recognizing the need to help other Icelandic players have similar opportunities, we established our recruiting agency, Soccer & Education USA. Since then, we've assisted more than 500 Icelandic players in securing athletic scholarships to study in the United States.

The concept of Iceland Soccer Travel emerged shortly after we founded Soccer & Education USA. Following successful showcases in 2016 and 2017, where coaches showed great interest in our beautiful country and unique soccer culture, we started receiving numerous inquiries about hosting teams during the summer season.

In 2018, we took a significant step by applying to the "Startup Tourism Accelerator" in Iceland, where we were selected among the top 10 out of 130 applicants. This experience helped us refine our product for customers.

Our first team arrived in 2019, a group of 60 from Vermont, USA. The trip was a fantastic experience for all involved, and the positive feedback further confirmed that we were offering something extraordinary. You can see highlights from their trip here.

We firmly believe that we provide a truly unique experience that will create lifelong memories for our customers. Iceland's distinctive landscapes and reputation as one of the safest countries in the world make it an exceptional destination. Additionally, we aim to educate visitors about Icelandic soccer culture and how our nation, despite its small size, achieved the remarkable feat of qualifying for a World Cup.
